Turning Seasons

Recording...Still trekking...exhausted and stressed. Tedious times, can't wait for post-production. Meeting as often as we can only amounts to two days a week hence the slow pace, but we should have finished, unmastered cuts of those 4 tracks soon.

Met Swallow The Sun, talked about David Lynch, met Orphaned Land and talked about Turkish folk music, met Katatonia and was given a movie pitch by Anders, and the two new members are nice dudes.

Digs: Cheap Trick, Verdi's and Dvorak's Requiems, Charlie Chaplin, Vengeance Trilogy

Floodland

Lots of new things:

-4 drum tracks are recorded, so it's actually underway finally and can only pick up speed
-Jeff Beck is fucking awesome in concert
-Digging: Archandroid, Portal Of Sorrow, and The Double Life Of Veronique
-Writing 3 scripts
-May turn this album into a film after it's recorded (which means lots of rewrites for the score and...storyboarding :( )

Time for nightwork bye

Precambrian

Also known as the beginning of production. Not really but it sounds fancy. Coming up with different guitar tones for 12 songs takes too long, but that's what you get when you do a concept record...! Yes, it's a concept record, about what, well I don't know, do I? Of course I do but there's no lyrics yet. Not until all the music is recorded, and by then it'll be 2012 just based on how long it took to finish the first track. At least it sounds great, and that's not just me saying that so I know it's true.

ALSO HERE ARE THE RELEASE PLANS:

$5 for mp3 only download (12 songs, 55 minutes)
$8 for the full album (12 songs, 55 minutes) plus 2 rewritten covers and lots o' album art

After 3-5 months the $8 will rise to $10 just to give time for "the word" to spread or something silly like that. Also there's a chance you'll probably just get it handed right to you because you're just that special. If this is successful I'll make shirts and vinyl. Feels like one hundred years.

Pssst again

On second thought, an hour is scary to some people, and you're lazy american sissies, but fuck it I'll cut it down and release an EP shortly after. I'll probably change my mind again within two minutes

Pssst

14 tracks (including 6 interludes), 60 minutes on the dot, lyrics aren't even started, track order is complete, and no I'm not showing it to you

Metamorphosis

Not Kafka, but that book is mesmerizing, yet the photo above is moreso. The record is coming along (extremely stressfully), motifs galore, and probably too many "grand" parts for its own good, but at least I get to use my koto. The prelude and outro are finished, about 8 full songs completely finished, a handful of little interludes, and one last massive track I'm bringing back from the dead and need to finish rewriting, then I can move on to track order to figure out the concept outline of the record, get really drunk, and write some lyrics out on the lake at midnight. This record's a doozy, but I'll be damned if it doesn't get Austlune signed...and that's coming from someone with no self esteem. Just need to figure out how to make the motifs sound like recurring themes instead of recycling...how do the classical folks do it so well?

New Night

It seems that while hallow's eve is passing right through me, the spirits are not present this month and this gives time to build monetary flow for recording equipment. Once autumn truly sets in, the steam rises from the lake, and the funeral procession of winds begins, new material will almost surely become into themselves. It also helps that I reconnected with two old friends, which means Austlune now has a drummer and bassist. Blogs are so awkward...
